Multiculturalism can be defined by the preservation of different cultures within a unified society. This past thanksgiving my parents showed how people with open minds can thrive in a multicultural society.
What was amazing to see was the multicultural dynamic at one table as everyone brought a small dish and in the end we had a table full of food from various countries which was enjoyed by all. The discussions were very interesting because of the different perspectives and the willingness to listen and discuss.
My family strongly believes that multiculturalism strengthens a group and if nurtured within a unified society could make it thrive.

In Western society people from a young age learn what prom is and want to experience it. As a result we spend close to $1000 if not more just to make that one night perfect and conform to the social norm of our society.

Being a male in a childcare position goes against our society’s traditional rules of masculinity and social convention. My long hair is breaking a gender stereotype as well.

While the children of the Blue Collar workers slave to earn a living during their “vacation”, the privileged white teen relaxes in the sun. His only worry is deciding on Vueve or Dom Pérignon.
